The collar should be put on as soon as the training starts. In the beginning the dog will scratch itself but gradually it will get used to the collar but it should be ensured that the collar is neither too tight nor too loose. As soon as the dog gets used to the collar the leash should be put on the collar but the end of the leash should not be taken in the hand. Hold on to the other end of the leash at this point and do not leave it even if the dog pulls at the leash as it is a natural reaction.
